This week in activism

Since I still need space but have been confined to bed all day long with a migraine (I’m not sure what one has to do with the other but go with it), I’m going to make a post of links. Because it’s fun. All links open in new windows.

Dine out at participating restaurants Tuesday, August 29 and help those recovering from Hurricane Katrina.

Send a letter to el presidente about closing Gitmo. (For some really blood-boiling news, find a copy of the latest Rolling Stone (the one with Christina Aguilera looking all dishy on the cover) and read the article called “The Unending Torture of Omar Khadr”)

Soulforce.org practices nonviolent resistance to the religious and political oppression of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered individuals. They base their nonviolent principles on the teachings of Ghandi and Martin Luther King, Jr.

SaveDarfur.org. The situation in Darfur is getting drastically worse and now that our administration has called it genocide again, it’s time to remind them that calling it genocide is not enough.

  1. Hi, you’re pretty. Ok, so I realize this is not exactly the appropriate comment for this post, but have been meaning to mention it for a while.

  2. Um – I just commented and now it is gone, but I don’t want to post it again in case then it posts twice and I look like a loser.
